In the Crosstab Trust Index, Selzer & Co. (A+, Trust Score 94), Emerson College (A+, Trust Score 85), The New York Times/Siena College (A+, Trust Score 84) rank highest, based on how close their final polls came to actual results from 1998 to 2022 compared with other pollsters in the same races.
Compared with other polls of the same races, co/efficient (R+4.2), Quantus Insights (R+3.1), Glengariff Group (R+2.3), University of North Florida Public Opinion Research Lab (R+2) have leaned most toward Republicans so far in 2026. A lean describes how a pollster's numbers compare with others; it isn't a measure of accuracy.
Compared with other polls of the same races, TIPP Insights (D+4), Marist College (D+3.1), Siena College (D+2.7), Hart Research (D+2.7), Abacus Data (D+2.4) have leaned most toward Democrats so far in 2026.
Each pollster's final polls (the last 21 days before an election) are compared with the actual results, adjusted for how hard each race was and compared with other pollsters in the same races. Recent cycles count more. Consistency, partisan bias and transparency also count, and every grade comes with a confidence level from 400 resamples.
